Birtinya Cable-stay Pedestran Bridge – Sunshine Coast Qld

A new $27 million pedestrian and cycle is located over Lake Kawana, an essential connection for the Stockland Birtinya developments in the Sunshine Coast.

Designed to serve pedestrians, cyclists, and mobility device users, the bridge features a four-metre-wide pathway and a clearance of three metres at it’s centre to accommodate watercraft.

Syncwise has designed a state of the art electrical system and KNX lighting control concept for the bridge.

The lighting will feature RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) lights to enhance the aesthetic appeal and functionality of the bridge, providing both safety and an inviting atmosphere for pedestrians.

2 KNX presence dectors will be located each side of the bridge for switching and dimming of the lamps.

These sensors will allow the system to monitor if a pedestrian stops in the middle of the bridge or has crossed the bridge.

A 4G router will allow users to control the KNX lighting control from any remote location using a mobile device.

Syncwise developed an GUI interface using a Thinknx app enabling the user to control the switching and dimming of the lights. This app also allows users to turn on/off various RGBW pre-configured scenes. The RGBW controller allows users to change the colour of the lights from the interface and also allows user to save the colour in a preset that can be used to recreate the scene when required.

Special event scenes have been created to celebrate Australian & other worldwide events throughout the year and lights will display specific colours for a certain period of time.
